I remember that moment as if it were yesterday.
Together with Filippo, I stepped across the threshold of Giorgio Armani’s Social Room. Entering that place meant drawing close, if only for an instant, to a figure who had profoundly shaped Italian and international fashion.
The emotion was so intense that, as I greeted him, I shook his hand almost hard enough to crush it.
It is one of those memories that time cannot fade. One of the rare moments when fashion – which for me has always been home, work, passion and everyday life – suddenly stopped being something familiar and turned into pure wonder. Almost a mystical experience.
Today that memory takes on an even deeper meaning. I treasure it as a precious gift, bound not only to the man I was fortunate enough to meet, but to everything Giorgio Armani represented for those who, like us, live fashion every day.
He turned elegance into a recognisable, timeless language. He expressed an Italian vision made of restraint, character and identity, proving that you don’t need to raise your voice to leave an indelible mark.
To Giorgio Armani, our most heartfelt thanks.
For what he created.
For what he represented.
For the emotions he gave us through his work.
And, personally, for that brief meeting I still carry with me today.
Because fashion, when it meets the soul, stops being merely what we wear and becomes memory, emotion, part of our story.
Fashion will never be the same.
