It was 1950 the year that saw the birth of one of the greatest Italian stylists: Alberta Ferretti. Growing up in her mother's great tailoring, from an early age she was able to feed that innate aesthetic sense and that
passion, as well as talent, for fashion that has made her one of the most renowned Made in Italy brands in the world. Constantly in contact with fabrics and everything related to the creation and processing of
dresses, Alberta from a very young age was able to sharpen the taste for fine fabrics, colors and accurate workmanship that are her hallmark today. At just 18 years of age, her determination led her to open the first boutique in Cattolica, where
will better understand the desires of the female universe and consumption trends. Its first collection, born in 1974, reveals great taste and unparalleled sophistication, thus marking his first great success. Together with his brother Massimo, in 1980, they decided to found the company that leads the his name is Aeffe. It will therefore be the turn of the Milanese catwalks which in 1981 will see his parades
meanwhile, the company grows, expands, and in 1984 Alberta creates a second line for young people: Alberta Ferretti's Philosophy. In the meantime he starts to produce the collections of some prominent brands of the prêt - à - porter such as Moschino (1983), Ozbek (1988), Gaultier (1994) and Rodriguez (1997). Closely connected to the creative part of the company, Alberta over time develops that style made of essential lines, precious embroidery and light decorations, a symbol of discreet and sophisticated femininity. But his interest does not stop in the fashion field. A passionate breeder of the Italian historical and artistic heritage, in 1994, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Montegridolfo and the Emilia Region Authority, she brought the small medieval village of Montegridolfo back to life, chosen in the 13th century as the home of the noble Gridolfi family. After about six years of work, the village regains its identity, appearing as it was at the origins: a lively town, a center with craft shops, shops with local products and gardens where concerts are organized in the summer. The residence of Palazzo Viviani, the beating heart of the castle, has become a meeting point and oasis of relaxation for the great names of the international jet set. In 1996 the Alberta Ferretti brand conquered the United States and in the Big Apple, on 56th street, it opened a showroom. It is time for honors, so much so that in 1998 she was knighted by the President of the
Repubblica Oscar Luigi Scalfaro and in 2000 she was awarded an honorary degree in Conservation of
Cultural Heritage for the recovery of Montegridolfo.
On the occasion of the performance of Bizet's 'Carmen', held at the Baths of Caracalla in Rome in 2003, Alberta Ferretti creates 490 stage costumes. A collection inspired by the strong ed Carmen's charming personality, where the fabric used is chiffon which has always identified the style of Ferretti. Meanwhile, new boutiques are born in Rome, Milan, Paris, Taipei, New York, London and Tokyo brand of the brand. In 2005, the suggestive Piazza del Campidoglio saw its first collection of 'Prêt - à - Couture', consisting of 20 dresses dedicated to an ethereal, sensual and extremely feminine woman. It will be on this occasion that he will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Mayor of Rome Walter Veltroni. In the same year, another prize was awarded to her by the International Fashion Group in New York: the 'The Romantics' prize dedicated to her creations made of feelings and emotions. In fact, the stylist sees in romanticism the freedom to create following the thrust of fantasy, of emotions, without ever losing sight of the woman contemporary that 'must never betray itself'.
